SATORI's 13th Annual Midwinter Concert, January 19, 2013, will feature SATORI Grande! -- an expanded ensemble of SATORI musicians and guest artists, led by Maestro Donald Spieth -- chamber music of Telemann, Beethoven and Stravinsky.
SATORI's 2012-2013 season introduces a new performance venue for the group -- the Second Sunday Concert Series at UUCLV, Bethlehem.Hear SATORI's first East Meets West concert there on February 10, 2013 -- Western chamber music joined by the sound of shakuhachi, the traditional bamboo flute of Japan.
SATORI continues to offer a selection of six different in-school educational performances -- including an art-and-music program with artist Linda Ganus, and Once Upon a Tune, music and storytelling from European fairy tales to Americana, featuring storyteller Charles Kiernan. SATORI's newest educational initiative, the SATORI Master Class project, developed in cooperation with local elementary school music educators, provides special teaching and performance opportunities for some of the area's youngest instrumentalists!
This year's SATORI's Student Chamber Music Competition, February 16, 2013, will include the first annual competition for student compositions, as well as for performance. Check the BRAVO! page for information, regulations, and an application.
